Nigerian street-pop star, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has taken to social media to express frustration over restricted access to his First Bank account.
In a video that has since gone viral, the Zazoo Zeh crooner claimed that while funds are still being deposited into his account, he is unable to make any withdrawals. “Money is entering my account, but I can’t withdraw,” he said, calling on First Bank to urgently address the issue.
Speaking in an unusually calm tone, Portable voiced concerns about physically visiting the bank, citing the recent arrest of online personality Verydarkman at a GTBank branch over alleged illegal withdrawals from his mother’s account. The singer noted that the incident has made him wary of walking into a banking hall himself.
Addressing rumors of possible fraud, Portable denied any wrongdoing, insisting his income is from legitimate sources such as music streams, shows, and endorsements.
“My money comes from music, shows, and endorsements,” he stressed.
In a separate video, he made a surprising claim that his account contains over ₦400 billion, disclosing that he recently received payments from global streaming platform Apple Music and urgently needs access to the funds.
As of the time of filing this report, First Bank has not issued an official statement regarding the matter.
