The Afrobeats star had been nominated in three categories, including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Best New Artist, but it was her international win that stood out.
Held in Los Angeles, the awards night was dominated by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, who won five awards including Album of the Year and Best Male Hip Hop Artist. Despite strong showings, fellow Nigerians like Tems, Rema, and Shallipopi did not secure any wins.
Tems had two nominations under the BET Her category, while Shallipopi vied for Best New International Act. Rema was also nominated for Best International Act.
Blue Ivy Carter received the YoungStars Award, and veteran actor Denzel Washington won Best Actor. The event showcased a mix of industry legends and emerging stars across music, film, and sports.
