The installation of Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan is scheduled to occur at the historic Mapo Hall . The former governor of Oyo State ascends to the throne following the passing of the previous monarch, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, in July 2025 .

The event is anticipated to draw a wide array of distinguished guests from across the nation, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, serving and former state governors, and other prominent political figures . The gathering underscores the significant national importance attached to the Olubadan stool .

Substantial security preparations have been implemented in Ibadan to ensure a peaceful ceremony, with the police advising the public to anticipate road closures and adjust their travel plans accordingly .
