Doctors Call on LAUTECH Board to Fix Worker Gaps and Run-Down Buildings

Medical staff training at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have pressed the fresh oversight group for the facility to focus first on hiring more health workers and fixing key setups to boost care services in this main state-run medical centre.

This plea arises just after Oyo State’s governor, Seyi Makinde, named the latest board members. The picks follow talks the governor held with hospital employees during a recent stopover, where he listened to their worries and vowed steps to steady operations and lift worker conditions.

The governor sealed the choices through notes from his top aide, Segun Ogunwuyi, picking seven people for the hospital’s board. Professor Banji Oyeyinka Oyelaran leads as chair, joined by Olatunde Gabriel Oyelade, Bello Adebayo Taiwo, Isola Agnes Bolanle, Akintunde Kehinde Ayinde, Olawale Adebayo Olakulehin, and Adenike Olugbenga-Bello.

In a welcome note penned by Adedokun Stephen, head of the resident doctors’ group at the hospital, the team offered hearty cheers to the board, hailing the timing as key to reshaping the site. They pointed out that the hospital battles low numbers of skilled hands, worn-out structures, and swelling crowds of patients seeking help.

The group wrote: “This role arrives during a turning point for our workplace, where bold guidance and firm dedication matter most to overcome hurdles and aim for top standards.”

Fixing broken buildings, securing reliable cash for hands-on learning, and covering open posts at every level stand as must-dos to keep strong treatment and schooling in the area, the doctors added.

As Oyo’s sole state-backed advanced care spot, the hospital trains budding specialists, future physicians, lab experts, and nurses. It draws patients from local clinics and farther away, so it demands ongoing fixes to buildings, smart hiring plans, and lasting support for skill-building among healers.

Such actions hold the key to smooth daily work and peak care levels for folks in Oyo and nearby places, they stressed.

The doctors praised Governor Makinde for his steady backing, especially his latest trip and pledges to refresh health sites under his fresh outlook plan. “That drop-in, paired with steps already underway from his words, has sparked fresh trust and backed our belief in the updated renewal drive,” they noted.

The group voiced hope that the board will team up with everyone involved to lift the hospital’s work and reach, pushing them to launch changes without delay. They ended with wishes: “May higher guidance grant you sharp insight to lead the hospital in Ogbomoso to enduring success and standout role.”
