Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday narrowly escaped injury when the ceiling of her Lekki residence collapsed. The actress shared a video of the incident on her Instagram story, showing the wreckage from the fallen plaster of Paris ceiling.
The ceiling collapsed close to where her car was parked in the compound. Blessing expressed shock at the incident, saying she had never witnessed such an occurrence before. She wondered what might have happened if the collapse had occurred inside her house or directly on her vehicle.
Writing on social media, the actress said: “Come to lekki they said. Tnk God no be inside house and my new car no Dey there…wetin I for talk abeg? It’s well with una lekki developers.”
Her post sparked online discussions, with many people sympathising with her close call while criticising poor construction standards often associated with developers in the Lekki area of Lagos.
Despite the frightening experience, Blessing reassured her fans that she was safe and grateful the incident did not damage her new car or harm anyone in the vicinity. The actress appeared to use the incident to highlight concerns about building quality in the upscale Lekki neighbourhood, which has become a popular residential area for celebrities and wealthy Nigerians.
