The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has applauded President Bola Tinubu, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the Bankers’ Committee for restoring the National Theatre in Lagos.
AFRIMA described the renovation as a bold move to protect Nigeria’s cultural heritage and strengthen the creative sector.
Its President, Mike Dada, said the landmark’s revival was “a renewal of cultural confidence and an investment in future generations of Nigerian and African talent.”
He added that the theatre has long been central to African creativity, hosting music, film and cultural festivals for decades.
AFRIMA also congratulated Nigeria on its 65th Independence anniversary, praising the country’s influence in music, film and fashion across Africa.
