World heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a road accident on Tuesday along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State.
Two people died at the scene, while Joshua sustained minor injuries.
The crash happened shortly after 11am when the Lexus SUV conveying Joshua collided with a stationary truck.
An eyewitness, Adeniyi Orojo, said four people were inside the vehicle, adding that the passenger beside the driver and another passenger seated next to Joshua died instantly.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that Joshua and one other person were taken to hospital, while investigations into the crash have begun.
The Federal Road Safety Corps said preliminary findings point to excessive speed and wrongful overtaking as the cause of the accident.
