Former President Muhammadu Buhari is not in critical condition as widely speculated, according to his former digital media aide, Bashir Ahmad.
Ahmad issued a statement on Thursday to dismiss reports claiming Buhari had been admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), describing them as “exaggerated.”
“It is true that former President Buhari is unwell and is currently receiving medical attention,” Ahmad confirmed. “However, contrary to the exaggerated claims circulating in the media, he is stable and responding well to treatment, and we are optimistic about his full recovery.”
The clarification comes amid growing public concern over Buhari’s health, following several unverified reports.
Ahmad also acknowledged the support the former president has received: “We appreciate the outpouring of prayers and goodwill from his supporters and well-wishers around the world. We continue to pray for his complete and speedy recovery.”
