Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is facing prosecution over comments she allegedly made on national television about Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello.
The Kogi Central lawmaker appeared before a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, where she denied six charges filed against her by the Federal Government, all linked to alleged cybercrime.
The charges, brought through the office of the Attorney General, stem from claims that Akpabio and Bello were plotting to have her killed, a statement the government says violates Nigeria’s cybercrime laws.
Justice Mohammed Umar granted the Senator bail based on her official status and legal standing. The court set September 22, 2025, for the start of the trial.
This comes just days after Senator Natasha was arraigned in a separate defamation case.
She was accompanied to court by her husband, human rights activist Aisha Yesufu, and several supporters.
