Dangote Industries Limited has been named the Most Admired African Brand at the 15th edition of the Brand Africa 100 awards held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The company also made history as the first African firm inducted into the Brand Africa Hall of Fame, in recognition of its impact on the continent and its consistent leadership in industrialisation.
Founder and President, Aliko Dangote, received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his role in building a globally respected African brand and promoting economic development through homegrown enterprise.
Other brands inducted into the Hall of Fame include MTN, M-Pesa, Ethiopian Airlines, and South Africa, for their long-standing presence among Africa’s top brands.
The awards were based on a survey conducted across over 30 African countries. Despite growing confidence in the continent, the 2025 rankings revealed that only 11% of the Top 100 admired brands are African, a drop from 14% in 2024, highlighting the need for stronger support for local brands.
Brand Africa Chairman, Thebe Ikalafeng, urged African consumers to back local businesses and called on brands to invest more in innovation and quality to compete globally.
