Dangote Refinery Quietly Cuts Petrol Price Below N835 per Litre

The Dangote Petrochemicals Refinery has discreetly lowered the effective price of petrol to N825 per litre, offering a N10 rebate to marketers after loading, sources confirmed on Monday.

While the official ex-gantry price remains N835, marketers now receive refunds post-purchase, enabling them to sell at a slightly lower retail price range of N830 to N835, undercutting importers and private depots.

“The refinery has started giving a rebate on its products. It’s not an official reduction yet,” a source familiar with the development said.

The move follows two previous price cuts last month and comes amid the resumed implementation of the Naira-for-Crude agreement with local refiners. Dangote Group has yet to issue a formal statement on the latest adjustment.
