Afrobeats star Davido has dismissed rumours about opening a new restaurant, clarifying that the widely discussed “5ive Star Food” is merely a marketing effort tied to his upcoming album, 5IVE.
The clarification comes after actress Sarah Martins took to Instagram, suggesting the eatery should have been launched in his wife Chioma’s name due to her culinary talent. In response, Davido stated that no restaurant was opened, calling the claim baseless and demanding the removal of Chioma’s image from Martins’ post.
“You no get sense… No restaurant was opened. That was a promotional campaign with @foodcourt_app for my album. Now take my wife’s picture off your page,” he wrote.
Martins later explained that her comment stemmed from admiration for the couple, not ill intent. Meanwhile, public reactions remain divided, with some fans supporting her sentiment and others backing Davido’s reaction.
