Davido to Head Osun Sports Fund Committee

The Osun State Government has named music star Davido as the chairman of the state’s Sports Trust Fund, with the intention of improving sports development across the state.

Announcing the appointment, the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi, said Davido’s influence and network would help attract donations and sponsorships from within and outside Nigeria.

“Davido has been appointed to chair the Sports Trust Fund, and he did not hesitate to accept. His involvement will help raise funds that will positively impact sports in Osun,” Adewusi said.

He added that the government is currently renovating the Osogbo Township Stadium, promising that the upgraded facility will be ready soon and meet modern standards.

Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration said the goal is to make Osun a hub for local and international sports events, while giving young athletes better opportunities to grow.
