Domestic Airlines to Begin Purchase of Jet A1 Fuel from Dangote Refinery.

Domestic airlines in Nigeria under the coverage of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) have announced their decision to halt the purchase of imported Jet A1 fuel. Instead, they will source it locally from the Dangote Petrochemical Refinery, to lower airfares across the country.

According to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, this strategic shift by the airlines will not only support the local fuel industry but also lead to a significant reduction in ticket prices.

He revealed this during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm, aired on Tuesday.

Keyamo explained that the airlines’ decision was made with encouragement from his ministry, emphasising that it would strengthen the domestic economy by promoting local production.
