A scheduled British Airways service from Abuja to London experienced a disruption on Friday after safety checks revealed a problem with one of the aircraft’s doors.
The airline reduced the number of passengers on board to comply with safety regulations, leaving 58 ticket holders unable to travel as planned. Authorities arranged alternative flights for the affected customers, with some offered hotel stays while others chose to return home.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority said passengers can seek compensation and advised travellers facing similar delays to work with its Consumer Protection Officers at the airport to ensure their entitlements are met.
