Federal Government Launches Online Classes for Secondary School Pupils Nationwide

The Federal Ministry of Education unveiled Inspire Live(s) Online Real-Time Classes on Tuesday, a digital programme offering live interactive lessons to Junior and Senior Secondary School students across Nigeria. Minister Tunji Alausa announced the rollout, which targets public and private schools to tackle teacher shortages and learning disruptions. Classes run Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., delivered by certified master teachers via Cisco Webex.

The initiative expands under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. It ensures quality education reaches every child, no matter their location or challenges. Officials plan to extend coverage soon to Primary 1 through Senior Secondary 3.

States must appoint a focal officer to manage participation. School principals handle registrations through official channels. Designated schools need basic ICT tools and internet for smooth access.

Junior Secondary School pupils study these subjects:

– Basic Science
– Mathematics
– English Language
– ICT
– Agricultural Science
– Basic Technology
– Civic Education
– French
– Physical Education
– Religious Studies
– History
– Business Studies

Senior Secondary School pupils cover:

– Biology
– Chemistry
– Physics
– English Language
– Mathematics
– Economics
– Geography
– Agricultural Science
– Technical Drawing/Catering Craft
– Civic Education
– Automobile Mechanics

This step opens doors for young minds in far-flung corners, where classrooms often fall short. It mends gaps in a system strained by scarcity, giving pupils tools to chase brighter tomorrows amid quiet struggles.
