An ongoing federal employment drive has drawn over 450,000 applicants across Nigeria, far exceeding the number of available roles, which insiders say are fewer than 10,000.
Launched earlier this year by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), the recruitment campaign targeted a broad range of roles in sectors including healthcare, technology, education, and law. Though the portal faced access challenges, a deadline extension allowed more applicants to complete their submissions.
A senior commission official, speaking off-record, confirmed that a shortlist is being compiled, and successful candidates will soon be invited for computer-based testing in their respective states. Immediate exam results are expected upon completion, with no room for rescheduling.
While public demand for updates has grown, the FCSC says formal announcements will follow in due time.
