FG Allocates N700bn to Revamp Tertiary Institutions in 2025

The Federal Government has earmarked over N700 billion for tertiary education in 2025, aiming to improve infrastructure, research, and staff development across universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

Executive Secretary of TETFund, Sonny Echono, announced the allocation during a strategic meeting in Abuja, confirming that universities will receive N2.8 billion each, polytechnics N1.9 billion, and colleges of education N2.1 billion. The funds will primarily focus on rehabilitating outdated facilities, expanding research funding, and enhancing academic development.

Echono urged institutions to efficiently utilise their funds and commence project planning early, ensuring smooth implementation. The initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and enhancing learning environments in higher institutions.
