FG Closes Independence Bridge for Rehabilitation Until May 2025

The Federal Government has announced the closure of the Independence Bridge (Marina-bound) from April 1, 2024, to May 2025 to facilitate essential maintenance and rehabilitation work.

Lagos Federal Controller of Works, Olukorede Kesha, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, noting that the closure would affect traffic movement from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku towards Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan.

She urged motorists to use alternative routes to mitigate traffic congestion and advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly.

The government apologised for any inconvenience, assuring the public that the repairs aim to improve road infrastructure safety and durability.
