The Federal Government has announced a ₦10 million Tax Reform Challenge to engage students and youths in shaping Nigeria’s new tax system.
The initiative, revealed by Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, invites undergraduates and NYSC members to share creative ideas through articles, videos, podcasts, or social media posts between July and December 2025.
Entries will be judged on originality, depth, and relevance, with ₦5m, ₦3m, and ₦2m prizes for the top three winners. Finalists from each region will also receive gadgets, internship offers, and recognition as Tax Reform Youth Ambassadors.
Oyedele encouraged young Nigerians to “read, create, educate, and shape history” by participating in the competition.
The tax reform initiative, part of President Bola Tinubu’s fiscal agenda, seeks to simplify the tax system, ease business burdens, and improve revenue generation without raising new taxes.
