FG Transfers 15 CNG-Powered Buses to NURTW and Other Stakeholders.

The Federal Government on Thursday unveiled 15 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Clean Energy Transport Scheme, aimed at mitigating the impact of fuel subsidy removal.

During the launch in Abuja, the Minister of Transportation, Said Ahmed Alkali, highlighted the government’s commitment to clean energy and citizen empowerment.

The buses were handed over to key transport unions, including NURTW, RTEAN, and NARTO, to ensure proper management and maintenance.

Alkali assured that the initiative would be expanded nationwide, with plans for public sensitisation to promote accessibility.

He called on Nigerians to support the scheme, describing it as a step toward a sustainable transportation future.

The launch in the Federal Capital Territory marks the pilot phase of the scheme, with broader implementation expected across other states.
