The Federal Government has intensified efforts to curb bullying in Nigerian schools with the creation of a dedicated seven-member committee.

This initiative seeks to enhance student safety and well-being while ensuring swift action against reported cases.

As part of the strategy, the Ministry of Education has also introduced confidential reporting channels, including a hotline (09012660044), an email (antibullying@education.gov.ng), and a WhatsApp number (08052536133), allowing students and parents to report bullying incidents discreetly.

Education Minister Dr. Olatunji Alausa highlighted the urgency of tackling bullying, stressing its impact on students’ mental health.

Ministry spokesperson Boriowo Folasade reaffirmed the government’s commitment, calling on educators, parents, and students to actively support the initiative.

This effort aligns with the broader goal of strengthening the education system under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
