FG to Mandate Parastatals’ Acceptance of Corps Members Nationwide.

The Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has announced plans to mandate government agencies and parastatals to accept National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to them.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, Olawande stated that a memo would be sent to President Bola Tinubu to enforce compliance.

This follows the Federal Government’s recent decision to lift the restriction on posting corps members to private sector organisations.

The minister acknowledged cases of corps member rejections and assured that such issues would be resolved.

“Let them post them first, then we will tackle the rejection,” he said, stressing the need for corps members to gain exposure across diverse sectors to enhance their skills.

On the N77,000 allowance increase, Olawande confirmed the implementation process was near completion and payments would begin soon.

“It is a process, and very soon it will start. We are at the tip of it,” he noted.
