First Lady’s Birthday Initiative Generates ₦20 Billion for National Library Project

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has disclosed that a sum of twenty billion naira has been successfully gathered for the National Library Fund. The capital was raised through a philanthropic initiative she launched to commemorate her 65th birthday.

The campaign, termed the ‘Education Fund’, was established as an alternative to receiving conventional birthday presents. Well-wishers and supporters were encouraged to channel their contributions towards this national cause instead of offering personal gifts or celebratory advertisements.

The purpose of the accumulated funds is to facilitate the conclusion of the protracted construction of the National Library headquarters in Abuja. This project has experienced considerable delays over numerous years. The Federal Ministry of Education has been designated as the body responsible for managing the donated resources.

Senator Tinubu described the successful fundraising effort as the most valuable birthday present imaginable, underscoring her commitment to supporting educational development within the nation. The substantial donation marks a critical step forward in the journey to complete this significant national institution.
