FirstBank sponsored the Oke-Odan Cultural Festival 2025 in Oke-Odan community, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Thursday. The bank backed the event through its First@Arts initiative and #DecemberIssaVybe campaign to promote Nigeria’s rich heritage. Organisers themed the gathering ‘Leveraging Cultural Integration for Economic Prosperity’ to spotlight youth involvement and growth opportunities.
The festival grew from a simple Oke-Odan Day in 2022 into a full celebration of heritage, wellness, education, and development. It drew indigenes from home and abroad, fostering strong bonds and a sense of homecoming. Leaders handed out awards and commissioned projects that aim to boost local progress.
Oba Oluwarotimi Fagbenro, the Oloke-Odan of Oke-Odan, praised the sponsors for elevating the community’s traditions. “Our rich cultural heritage in general language is hereby being celebrated more than ever before,” he declared. He also called on Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun to build the Oke-Odan bypass road for better access and trade.
Such events weave threads of pride and possibility for young hearts eager to blend old stories with new dreams. In quiet towns like Oke-Odan, they kindle sparks of unity that light paths to brighter shared futures.
