Governor Dapo Abiodun Honours Top UNILAG Graduates with Ambassadorial Roles, N20 million cash prize

In a move to recognise academic excellence, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has appointed two outstanding graduates of the University of Lagos as Education Ambassadors of the state, rewarding each with a N10 million cash prize.

The beneficiaries, Samuel Badekale and Haroun Adebakin, achieved a remarkable feat by graduating with a perfect 5.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) at UNILAG’s 55th convocation, earning them the top spots as the institution’s best-graduating students. Their achievement was met with accolades from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), which praised the governor for his commitment to encouraging academic distinction.

In a statement, NANS Vice President for Inter-Campus and Gender Affairs, Akinbodunse Sileola, hailed the initiative as an inspiring gesture that would motivate students to strive for excellence. She highlighted that Governor Abiodun’s administration has consistently supported education, citing past instances where exceptional students and educators received similar recognition.

The association further urged other state leaders to adopt similar policies that promote educational achievements, reinforcing the impact of academic excellence on national development.
