Media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown has shared a candid account of her struggles with depression and the challenges she faced during her time as host of TVC’s talk show Your View.
In a recent chat with interviewer Chude Jideonwo, she revealed that at one point her mental health deteriorated so badly that she considered ending her life. “I was depressed. It got so bad that I thought I was suicidal,” she recalled.
Morayo explained that by the 10th anniversary of Your View, she already felt it was time to move on. According to her, the decision to step away was not sudden but the result of years of reflection.
She also revisited some of the controversies that trailed her career, from her public support of Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections, to her early dismissal of Peter Obi which she later admitted was based on limited knowledge. Another storm came when her on-air remarks sparked backlash over a perceived comment about her husband, which she said was later resolved after intervention from the First Lady.
Looking back, she described her 12-year journey on Your View as rewarding but difficult, noting that it shaped both her professional path and her personal resilience.
