Immigration Service Moves CERPAC Applications Fully Online, Ends Paper Forms July 31

In a major step toward digital reform, the Nigeria Immigration Service is set to fully automate the application process for expatriate permits, ending the use of paper forms by the end of July.

From August 1, all requests for the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC) will be processed through a new online portal. This change streamlines the process and making it easier for both individuals and companies to manage immigration-related paperwork without visiting physical offices.

Applicants who have already begun the process using the old paper method are being urged to complete their submissions before the July 31 deadline. After that date, incomplete or unsubmitted applications risk being invalidated.

This digital transition is expected to reduce bureaucratic delays and align Nigeria’s immigration system with global standards. Users can now access the new service portal directly and are advised to direct questions to the appropriate NIS communication channels.
