The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced new charges for passport applications made within the country, effective September 1, 2025.

A statement by the Service’s spokesperson, ACI AS Akinlabi, said the revised fees are now ₦100,000 for the 32-page passport with five-year validity and ₦200,000 for the 64-page passport with 10-year validity.

The agency clarified that the changes do not affect Nigerians abroad, who will continue to pay $150 and $230 for the same categories.

According to the statement, the review is aimed at preserving the quality of the Nigerian passport and making it more sustainable for citizens.
