The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of its mop-up UTME conducted on June 28, 2025.

Out of 96,838 candidates scheduled, only 11,161 results were released, with many unable to access theirs due to failure to follow proper SMS result-check procedures.

JAMB also gave an update on its ongoing investigation into a forged admission letter syndicate. With support from the Nigeria Police, five individuals behind the fraud were arrested and are currently being prosecuted.

The board revealed that 17,417 candidates benefited from the fake admission letters. Of this number, 6,903 have been cleared after resolving minor issues, while 10,514 cases were referred for police investigation. Among them, 5,669 were confirmed to have knowingly used forged letters, and 4,832 attempted to bypass official admission procedures through the syndicate.

JAMB has asked 13 flagged candidates to correct their records and print new admission letters. Another 1,532 were pardoned after their schools later regularised their admission status.

About 3,300 cases are still under investigation.

JAMB maintained that candidates and guardians found guilty of engaging in fraudulent activities will be prosecuted in line with the Examination Malpractices Act.
