The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has picked Saturday, June 28, 2025, as the date for its mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to a statement from the board, over 96,000 candidates are expected to sit for this special exam. These are students who either missed the original UTME, had biometric issues during their previous attempt, or were affected by other exam-related problems.
To get ready for the test, candidates are advised to start printing their exam slips from Monday, June 23. The mop-up will be conducted across 183 approved centres nationwide.
Meanwhile, JAMB has delisted 113 CBT centres over various issues such as technical failures and exam malpractice. The board said many of these centres are under investigation, and any found guilty may face prosecution. It also revealed that some impersonators and exam cheats, including students and school operators, had been uncovered with help from security agencies.
For those whose exam towns were deactivated, JAMB assured that they’ll be reassigned to the closest available centres.
As part of efforts to fight impersonation, the board warned that students caught cheating could be expelled from their schools and prosecuted under existing laws. JAMB emphasised the need for integrity in its exams and reminded all candidates to arrive at their exam centres at least one hour before the test begins, as the first session will kick off by 8 a.m.
