The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will release results for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Friday, May 9.
An official statement in Abuja confirmed: “The release of 2025 UTME is scheduled to hold tomorrow Friday 9th May, 2025; Venue: JAMB National Headquarters Bwari Abuja; Time: 8am.”
Out of 1.9 million candidates who took the exam, over 1.5 million scored below 200, according to JAMB’s performance data.
The UTME is scored out of 400, with candidates tested in four subjects, Use of English (compulsory) and three others based on their intended course.
Commenting on the outcome, Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, said:
“The high failure rate… is clear evidence that the government’s anti-malpractice measures are yielding results, especially within the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board system.”
