Lagos Blue Line Trains to Run Every 10 Minutes from August 11

Commuters on the Lagos Blue Line Rail will soon enjoy faster and more frequent trips, as the service is set to operate every 10 minutes starting Monday, August 11, 2025.

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) says the new timetable will cut travel time between Marina and Mile 2 to just 10 minutes and save passengers about 44% of their usual journey time.

Under the new schedule, weekday and Saturday trips will increase from 72 to 90, while Sunday services will remain at 22.

LAMATA’s Managing Director, Abimbola Akinajo, credited the development to new train sets purchased by the Lagos State Government with help from the Federal Government.

She added that the boost in operations is part of preparations for the full extension of the Blue Line to Okokomaiko, expected to be completed in late 2026.
