The Lagos State Government has released a comprehensive traffic diversion plan ahead of the planned repair works on the Ogudu/Ifako Bridge, set to commence on Saturday, June 28, 2025, and expected to last 110 days until Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
According to the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the bridge repairs will be executed in eight phases, involving partial lane closures of 50 meters before and after each work zone.
The first half of the project will cover the bridge section inbound Alapere from June 28 to August 16, while the remaining phases will focus on the portion leading to Oworonshoki, scheduled between August 16 and October 5.
To ease expected disruptions, the government has advised motorists to take alternative routes such as Gbagada through Anthony to access Ikorodu Road, and from Eko Bridge through Funsho Williams Avenue to the same destination. Osiyemi assured residents that officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be on ground throughout the repair period to coordinate movement and reduce traffic congestion.
