The Lagos State Government has commenced the training of 530 unemployed youths in digital skills under the Industry Insider Series, in partnership with GIZ SKYE.
The initiative, launched at the Eko Job Centre in Ikorodu, is aimed at improving job readiness among young people through sessions on resume building, digital inclusion, and workplace skills.
Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, represented by Permanent Secretary Olayinka Wasiu, said the programme aligns with the Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to youth empowerment under its T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda.
He emphasised that with proper training and guidance, young people could become valuable contributors to economic growth. The programme also received support from GIZ SKYE, which renovated the job centre as part of the collaboration.
Programme facilitator Sunkanmi Olanrewaju noted that the training encourages inclusivity in tech, stressing that background should not be a barrier to entering the digital workforce.
