Mentally Ill Man Kills NSCDC Officer in Ondo State Stabbing

19-year-old mentally ill man stabbed an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to death in Oba Ile community, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Thursday morning. The officer died in hospital from his wounds despite carrying a gun. He and a colleague had rushed to the scene after the suspect’s mother called them to chain her son, who was misbehaving.

The young man overpowered the officer during the struggle. He grabbed the knife from the officer’s possession and plunged it into him. Witnesses watched in horror as the tragedy unfolded right before them.
