NAFDAC has wiped out a huge pile of dodgy and past-its-date items valued at 20 billion naira in Oyo State. The burn took place on Friday at a dump site in the state’s main city, Ibadan.

The haul included fake drinks, worn-out drugs, and other unsafe goods grabbed from sellers and makers over the past year. Officials said the action stops these risks from reaching shops and hurting people.

The agency’s top boss praised the team’s hard work in spotting and seizing the junk. He stressed that keeping markets clean of bad products is key to public safety. The watchdog plans more such clean-ups nationwide to cut down on fake sales.
