NDLEA Arrests Canadian 41-Year-Old Woman for Smuggling Synthetic Cannabis into Nigeria.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 41-year-old Canadian, Adrienne Munju, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos, for allegedly importing a large quantity of synthetic cannabis known as ‘Canadian Loud.’

NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement confirmed that the arrest took place on Thursday, October 3.

According to Babafemi, Munju was apprehended during the inward clearance of passengers on a KLM flight from Canada at the Lagos airport’s Terminal 1.

In a joint examination of her luggage, NDLEA officials found 74 parcels of the illicit substance, weighing 35.20 kilograms, concealed in two of her three bags.

Munju, who was visiting Nigeria for the first time, admitted in her statement that she had been recruited online to traffic the drugs for $10,000 CAD, which she intended to use to fund her master’s degree in Canada.
