Nigeria’s drug enforcement team has spotted a fresh type of strong cannabis called California Loud in Lagos. This comes right after they shut down a secret spot making a fake weed mix known as Colorado in a home in Ajao Estate, Isolo.
The team watched the place for months before grabbing a 30-year-old man named Stephen Imoh who ran the lab. He mixed THC from real cannabis with other harsh chemicals to make the dangerous brew. Now, his skin is turning dark and flaking off from touching those substances.
The agency’s press chief, Femi Babafemi, said on TV that Loud is a tough strain from abroad, with a sharper taste that pulls in young folks more than home-grown kinds. “It’s a real headache for us,” he added, urging families, neighbours, and everyone to join the fight against these drugs.
The top boss, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, pledged to keep hunting down drug rings and taking their cash and gear for the government. Even with many busts, the country still battles hard with drug sales and use.
