The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has established a committee to organise the inaugural Nigeria International Airshow, scheduled for December 2025.

According to a statement by the ministry, the initiative aims to strengthen national collaboration and build capacity in the aerospace sector.

During a visit to NAF headquarters, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, highlighted the importance of NAF’s involvement in delivering a successful event.

“We expect a spectacular air display to showcase Nigeria’s air power,” Kana said, urging the Air Force to contribute its expertise.

Responding, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, assured of NAF’s full commitment.

“We must do everything possible to ensure the success of the event,” he stated.

The committee will determine the venue and coordinate logistics. The airshow is expected to attract global civil and military aviation companies and boost Nigeria’s economy, tourism, and international visibility.
