Nigerians Pay Final Respects as Buhari Is Remembered in Daura

A special interfaith prayer session was held on Thursday in Daura, Katsina State, in honour of Nigeria’s late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The prayer gathering, which took place at the late president’s residence, brought together religious leaders from both the Islamic and Christian faiths, along with top government officials and traditional rulers.

Among those present were notable Islamic clerics and Christian leaders who offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Buhari’s soul. They praised his contributions to the country and described him as a leader who embodied discipline and simplicity throughout his public service.

The event followed the formal third-day Fidau prayers conducted on Wednesday, in keeping with Islamic rites.

Following the ceremony, Vice President Kashim Shettima and members of the Federal Government delegation departed Daura for Abuja, where a state valedictory session was scheduled in honour of the late former president.
