The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Retail Limited has taken action against staff at its Ikorodu filling station after a viral video showed a pump attendant allegedly short-changing a customer.
The clip, which spread widely on social media, captured a man confronting the attendant for dispensing less fuel than the amount paid for.
NNPC said it immediately investigated and confirmed the incident. As a result, the attendant was dismissed, the station manager suspended, and the dealer issued a formal warning.
The company described the act as a clear violation of its standards of honesty and customer service.
It urged Nigerians to report similar cases using the contact details displayed at all NNPC stations and promised tighter monitoring across its operations.
