The Osun State Government says it will obtain official court documents before deciding on the fate of the Apetumodu of Ipetumodu, Oba Joseph Oloyede, who was recently jailed in the United States for COVID-19 loan fraud.
Speaking on the matter, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dosu Babatunde, said the state would not act on unverified reports.
“We will obtain the Certified True Copy of the judgment. After studying it, the government will then decide on the next steps,” he stated.
In Ipetumodu, residents remained calm as community chiefs met to discuss the development. The most senior chief, Sunday Adedeji, assured that peace would be maintained in the town.
