Osun State have rolled out the welcome mat to a group of business people from China, pushing them to set up shops in the area’s free trade zone and other factory spots. The meeting took place at the state headquarters in Osogbo, where the governor promised full backing to kick-start new ventures.
The governor pointed out the state’s strong chances for trade, its top ranking for smooth business dealings, and steps to fix gaps in roads, bridges, schools, power lines, and clinics. He also highlighted quick tax systems, a two-day process to get land papers, and a commerce team with global know-how that helps firms grow fast.
Speaking for the visitors, a top member of the Shanghai-based group said they picked Osun after hearing good reports on fair rule and liking the local music star. The team checked out the trade zone, liked its setup and services, and said they are set to move ahead once rules are cleared.
The Chinese side included experts in fun parks, paint making, electric bikes, logistics, and engineering. State aides like the chief secretary and commerce head joined the talks, along with a media boss and other officials.
This push comes after a Turkish outfit started making furniture in the state and a British firm lined up a deal to team up. All these moves aim to bring in cash from abroad, create jobs, and open markets for local goods.
