Peller Shrugs Off TikTok Night Live Ban with Diverse Income Streams

Nigerian TikTok star Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, brushed off concerns over a new platform restriction on late-night live streams in Nigeria. He shared his reaction in an Instagram video on Monday, December 8, 2025. The ban, which began at midnight on Sunday, December 7, 2025, limits access to LIVE features during nighttime hours as part of TikTok’s safety probe.

TikTok notified users through an in-app message titled “LIVE Notices – TikTok LIVE Update in Nigeria.” The alert explained the temporary curb aimed to keep the platform secure and shield the community from risks. Nigerian viewers now face blocks on late-night broadcasts from abroad too, stirring debates on content safety and creator livelihoods.

Peller, a top content creator who thrives on engaging livestreams and viewer gifts, rejected ideas that the move would hit his wallet hard. He pointed to his role as ambassador for multiple brands, each deal worth at least ₦40 million. “People are expecting me to be crying after TikTok banned live in Nigeria, thinking I’ll go hungry,” he said, highlighting how his earnings stretch far beyond the app.

The young influencer praised TikTok for empowering Nigerian youth through quick audience growth and income chances. “Many people will grow on TikTok. You can’t grow on Instagram the same way,” he noted. He warned that such limits could harm thousands of budding creators who rely on the platform for visibility and support.

Peller fired back at critics, including some who pushed for the nighttime curbs over safety fears. “Those girls who want them want to ban the TikTok night livestream, you will still be on TikTok every day,” he remarked. As discussions rage, his calm stance underscores the resilience of digital stars navigating platform changes.
