PETROAN Calls for Refineries’ Sale, ₦100bn Support for Oil Marketers.

The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has urged the Federal Government to sell state-owned refineries like those in Warri and Kaduna to private companies to make them more efficient.

In a statement on Saturday, PETROAN also requested a ₦100 billion grant to support oil marketers struggling to stay in business since fuel subsidy removal pushed petrol prices to nearly ₦1,000 per litre.

The group warned that without financial help, many businesses could shut down, causing massive job losses.

They also called for tighter border security to curb fuel smuggling and suggested using technology to monitor fuel distribution.
