President Tinubu Nominates Ibiyemi and Tukur for Key INEC Positions.

President Bola Tinubu has nominated lawyer Saseyi Ibiyemi as Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Ondo State.

Ibiyemi, who is currently the Administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos, will replace the late ‘Niyi Ijalaye, the REC for Ogun State, who passed away in August.

Originally from Ilaje, Ondo State, Ibiyemi graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1987 and holds a Masters in Election Management from Bingham University.

Additionally, Tinubu nominated Abdulrazak Tukur as National Commissioner for INEC, representing the North West.

Tukur, a veteran INEC official since 1999, has held several roles, including Director of Electoral Operations and Logistics.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bayero University and postgraduate qualifications from Bradford and Leeds universities in the UK.

Both nominees will face Senate screening for confirmation.
