Nigeria’s leader, Bola Tinubu, has sent warm wishes to a talented lawyer from the country, Tolu Obamuroh, after he earned a top role at White & Case LLP, a leading global legal firm based in New York.
This promotion highlights the strong skills of Nigerians on the world stage, with Obamuroh taking up the position of partner in the firm’s international disputes team in Paris from 1 January 2026.
He stands out as one of just three fresh partners chosen worldwide for this expert field, and the only one qualified under Nigerian law this year.
Tinubu celebrated the news in a message released on Friday, describing it as a fine example of the nation’s talent, determination, and high standards abroad.
The president pointed out that Obamuroh’s rise shows the promise of younger professionals from Nigeria who keep making their mark everywhere.
He added that joining such a respected firm proves the strength of the government’s fresh start plans, where people from the country take charge in different areas through hard work, honesty, and real influence around the globe.
Obamuroh has built a solid career by giving top advice in big legal battles that cross borders, often for governments and large companies in energy and building projects.
He also helps guide the national government on key overseas issues, reporting to the attorney general and justice minister.
Tinubu shared in the joy of Obamuroh’s family, friends, workmates, and the broader legal world over this big step, while urging other young people in Nigeria to learn from his path of commitment, focus, and helpfulness.
