Satguru Maharaj Ji has offered to support efforts to free Nnamdi Kanu, but only if the Indigenous People of Biafra ends its radio broadcasts and suspends sit-at-home directives.

The spiritual leader made the remark during a broadcast from his Ibadan temple, saying the conditions would open the door for a political settlement.

Kanu was recently handed a life sentence by a Federal High Court in Abuja, along with additional prison terms on other charges. Maharaj Ji described the judgment as a sign of divine mercy and urged Igbo elders to quietly engage President Bola Tinubu for a resolution instead of escalating tensions.

He warned that continuous agitation and fear-driven narratives in the South-East only slow down progress.

According to him, Tinubu has given Igbos significant political visibility, a move he claims has unsettled some northern interests.

Maharaj Ji believes a political deal is still possible if the region lowers the temperature and embraces dialogue. His offer comes as renewed appeals for Kanu’s release gain momentum, following recent visits by Governor Alex Otti and activist Omoyele Sowore.
