Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan shared more than 2,000 bags of 25kg rice and other relief items with constituents across five local government areas in Kogi Central Senatorial District. The distribution took place simultaneously in Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okene, Okehi, and Ogori-Magongo on December 24, 2025. It aimed to ease the burden of high food prices and help families celebrate Christmas with dignity.

Community leaders oversaw the handover to groups such as women’s associations, youth organisations, religious bodies, the elderly, and vulnerable residents. A traditional leader in Okene called it one of the largest such efforts in the area. “This is not symbolic support; it is real and far-reaching,” he said, praising the wide reach and genuine care shown.
Akpoti-Uduaghan explained that compassion drove the initiative. “Christmas is a season of love, sacrifice, and shared joy,” she stated. “At a time when many households are struggling with the cost of living, it is important that we stand with our people in practical ways.” In Okehi, she added that true representation means acting to improve daily lives beyond Senate duties.
Beneficiaries thanked the senator warmly, offering prayers and calling the gesture timely and compassionate. The outreach builds on her ongoing support, including healthcare, education, solar infrastructure, water projects, and empowerment for women and youth in the district.
As hardship bites many households this festive season, such practical aid brings real relief and hope to families in need.
